Tempe, Arizona

Tempe is a town in Maricopa County in the U.S. state of Arizona. It has a population of 180,587 according to the 2020 census. The city was named after the Vale of Tamesis in Greece. Tempe is located in the East Valley section of metropolitan Phoenix; it is bordered by Phoenix and Guadalupe on the west, Scottsdale and the Salt River Pima–Maricopa Indian Community on the north, Chandler on the south, and Mesa on the east. Tempe is also home to the main campus of Arizona state university.

Known for hosting year-round events, Tempe is the home to one of the oldest, juried art festivals in the state, the Tempe Festival of the Art. There are plenty of fun things to do in Tempe. Some of them include the Four Peaks Oktober­fest at Tempe Town Lake, the Arizona Dragon Boat Festival, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Arizona Marathon and ½ marathon, and so many others.
